Enough headlines coming out of this week’s new releases to fill a book. But we’ll condense that book, give you the best Cliff Notes we can provide. Headliners this week include the new album from The Beremy Jets (album cover cropped above), Devastation is out today on Somewherecold Records, and it’s a standout. Sure we’ve played the early lead single, but there’s a treasure trove of songwriting and sonics here, we believe you’ll feel much as we do. You may know we’ve been pushing Sweet Home at you, knowing they’ve laid a solid foundation for their forthcoming album. Advice has finally landed, and it’s a promise fulfilled: self-assured and confident, understanding the contours of the sound, and writing their own book. We’ve got the advance sneak peek of the new EP from Seattle’s Guest Directors, due in early October, and you may be familiar, as they’ve done several credible turns on our air, and are beloved in their segment. We’ll tease out some choice cuts in anticipation. The hottest new singles from Soft Blue Shimmer, エイプリルブルー (April Blue), and The Stargazer Lilies are certain to light up our charts. And we’re happy to bump the new EP from Indonesia’s Lullavile, unHEARed, out last week (but fresh to our ears). But we’re also trotting out fresh and tasty treats from Sorry Kisses, Black Market Karma, AEROFALL, Carina Messier, Dramamine, Hello Mary, Holy Ship, Sleeps Under Beams, Lilac, Love Dance, Lunar Isles, Nebula Glow, puppy angst, Sakkaris, Sonica, and MUCH more. That’s why this is such a bloody long paragraph, innit?

And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including The Black Angels, Darkswoon, Nuit, Alvvays, Absinthe Father, New Ghost, Grimoires, Acid Dad, Motifs, The City Gates, Viewfinder, The Ember Glows, shalloboi, abstract in sound, Bathrobe, Alex E.T., Echo of the Low Light, Hollow Graves, Pole Star, ruinedchurch, seablite, Black Nite Crash, Sunspire, The Foreign Resort, Zoon, They Are Gutting a Body of Water, violet oscillation, Infinite Vacation and much more. We’ll ride out the calendar change with you this weekend.

New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Icecast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Limited beta: we’re now up on Mixcloud Live, website AND app, if that’s a thing you’d dig. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support.
