Hi, DJ Heretic here, and whenever I go to a festival in some far-flung corner of the country, the show that gets brought up to me most often is The Melomania Safety Zone. There are a few reasons for this, I’m sure. First is, selection. For as much as we try to maintain a pretty consistent sonic footprint, Simon explores adjacent areas, to bring them into the DKFM fold. Second, his attention to sonic detail: while it’s my job to produce and make new shows sound seamless through transitions and editing, Simon’s flow is pretty unparalleled in indie radio, making some of the transitions seem like one continuous song/expression. Last but not least, Simon’s a fan, and you know when you hear him, he’s committed to the sound, and an explorer in the field. So, those are three great reasons to listen to The Melomania Safety Zone.
