We first discovered Newmoon in January of 2016, as we were slightly late to lurch into the Invitation To Hold EP. But what was obvious was a certain mastery of sound and mood that these Belgian standouts possessed. Not overtly showy, more tightly controlled and expansive in their approach, it was obvious (to us, at least) that these lads were going somewhere. By the time their Space LP launched into the stratosphere in late 2016, it was obvious that Newmoon represented the vanguard of new European shoegaze. They’ve been a rotation staple ever since, championed by all our DJs and staff, and nothing can dislodge them from their spot in our “hot rotation” roster. They create a sound that’s both immediate and enveloping, easily grasped and adored by newer and older fans of the genre.

The new album Temporary Light is unleashed in March of 2024, and we got a peek at the new work via the single “Fading Phase”, which is already generating buzz and enthusiasm amongst our DJs and listeners. But today, we get the honor of premiering video for the next single, “Eternal Fall”. Centered around themes of isolation and decay, and set to rippling waves of guitar, it’s an anthem for the alienated. With their blooming guitars and gracefully haunting melodies, they captivate listeners hungry for something …more. From gentle melodies and catchy hooks to plush walls of guitar and pummeling drums, the new album promises to be a dynamic return to form, with even greater depth and color than before.

If the first two singles are any indication, Temporary Light is likely to be one of the crowning albums of 2024, and certain to win another legion of fans to their already expanding profile. Couldn’t happen to a more talented crew.
