Thrilled to offer a video premiere for a project we weren’t familiar with, Starframes. It’s a warm and welcoming slice of electronic dream pop, with a classic bass line that will get your toes tapping immediately. Certainly started involuntary staff dancing in these studios!
“Rising Wall” is the third single excerpt from Nicht Vergessen, the forthcoming album of Neapolitan band Starframes on the bulbart label. Just as the other tracks, Rising Wall is directly related to the homonymous chapter of the novel, written by Raphael Bramont, voice and guitar of Starframes, that will follow the album release. The story takes place in Berlin from the 1940s up to contemporary days and gives a wide view on modern society by following the dramatic life events of main character Friederich Braun. The song lyrics describe the huge impact on Friedrich as he witnesses the rising of the Berlin wall on 13 August 1961.
Active since 2004 and based in Naples (Italy), Starframes released their debut album Street Politics in June 2009 (Mile High Music Records, UK), follow-up Ethereal Underground in January 2011 (BulbArt, IT), and self-produced EP Unwired in summer 2014. Nicht Vergessen is set to be released in autumn 2018.
On the song, Starframes’ Raphael Bramont (guitar, vocals) comments: “”Rising Wall” is something completely different from what we have created up to now. The song was inspired by 80s new wave and contemporary synth pop wave and represents the obscure impact of the wall on Friedrich’s mind. The sentence that I sing during the refrain is claustrophobic and marks the beginning of a life full of limits.”
