As a programmer, one can get nervous. It’s hours until Friday, and while you’ve got some quality new musics, you’re holding out for magic. But then the clock strikes Friday, and everything you hoped for is released at once. From Ride’s anticipated new LP, This Is Not A Safe Place, to the long awaited follow up album from Field Mouse (pictured above), Meaning, which is pretty much everything you’d hope for from Field Mouse. In addition, the latest LP release on the Hammock Music Label, Is Not Defeated by The Ascent of Everest, proves to be a complex and densely textured journey through cinematic post-rock and dream pop. Plus we’re deep into the latest tracks from 4Vesta, Lights That Change, Inbetween Movies, Brilliant Beast (R.I.P.), SirenSong, Charivari, Drowning Effect, LANDROID, Holy Drone, Prysm, Secret Treehouse, ryvers, Why Bonnie and more. Pressed down and overflowing are we.

And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh injections, including Tennis System, DIIV, Nothing, EDDYEVVY, Dottie, Glaze, Night Letters, Topographies, The Surrounded, TIRED, The Telewire, Teen Blush, Secret Attraction, La Flecha, One Ultra, Mondaze, Draining, MIMICO, Lost Echoes, Manon Meurt, Asilomar, Lavender Blush, and Rev Rev Rev and oh so much more!

New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
