Not sure how it happened, but on a relatively nondescript weekend in August, a torrent of great new shoegaze and dream pop was unleashed on an unsuspecting populace (including us). We’re a little tardy in compiling it all due to sheer volume. But that won’t stop us celebrating the fantastic efforts of these artists. Headliners this weekend include biatlón (premiered on Krissy’s Drowned in a Sea of Sound), Looprider, chokecherry, duszno, The Stargazer Lilies (fantastic interview on The Velvet Hum last night!), fawn, Plastic Girl in Closet (pictured above), she’s green, Talking Violet, Strayline, Winter, trillion, She’s in Parties, and Waving Blue. Rounding out our weekend rotation injections are Stockings, Revolution Above Disorder, Melts Band, Leechers, Future Nostalgia, Cybophonia, Beach Vacation, Ceruleum and more. We are packed to the rafters with new sounds!
And all that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Lemondaze, Sweet Tooth, Torre di Fine, bosses, Hiccup Heart, lipstick, Shaki Tavi, motifs, swim school, PURPLISH, Slow Husky, Western Freeway, twen, Big Heck, nagisami, Los Membrillos, motifs, Kim Frasier, mouse ∕ mouse, Dru, Altai, Dramamine, Eastern Bleeds, Bloom Effect, Crimson Whisper, Radio Belgrade, Tiberius and more. More music than time to spin it, we’ll fit in all we can.
New Tracks Weekend is begun at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others.
