New Tracks Weekend, August 23-25

So much new, so much now. We’ll spend the weekend celebrating Anak Ko, the new LP from Jay Som. Richly textured, warm and expressive, it’s the kind of “level up” long-time fans have waited for. The new album from Mermaidens (pictured above) released today, and it’s an angular adventure through dream pop, and Look Me in the Eye will grow on you with each repeated listen. New single tracks from DIIV, Hundredth and station favorites Soot Sprite are exceedingly tasty, but you’ll also want to catch songs from Spills, TWEN, The Sweet Release of Death, Queen of Jeans, Amy O, Medejin, Tambourina, Reduction Plan, Misty Cure, Great Grandpa, and Blue Tomorrows. We’re long on the new LP from Casino Garden, plus EPs from Genau, Dogbar Cinema, Dive Collate, kinoue64, Kississippi, Laundry Sauce, Lavender Blush, Painted Mirror, Necromoon, and much more. Plus we’ll catch up on two releases we’ve failed to bump in a timely manner: Barefood, and Moving Panoramas. Both artists we’ve championed in the past, but somehow overlooked their newest material. And that’s a crime, we’ll serve our time this weekend.

And that’s in addition to last week’s star turns from Ride, Field Mouse, The Ascent of Everest, 4Vesta, Lights That Change, Inbetween Movies, Brilliant Beast (R.I.P.), SirenSong, Charivari, Drowning Effect, LANDROID, Holy Drone, Prysm, Secret Treehouse, ryvers, Why Bonnie and more. So so much more.

New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
