It takes some chutzpah to configure and boot up a full New Tracks Weekend program after 36 hours of “stuttering” audio. One of our station taglines is “barely listenable noise”, but that noise wasn’t listenable at all. All our connections tested, all thoroughput solid, problem was definitely on broadcast distribution server. And their solution was to wait for self-correction. Welp, we waited as long as could, before taking matters into our own hands. New server, same broadcast, solid as ever. Can’t pretend it never happened, but that’s one reason we have backups for our backups, so as to not go through these challenges for any period of time. But enough inside baseball, let’s music.

Headliners this weekend include some bright stars: Trementina, Winter (featuring Hatchie), Hazel English, SLIDE, Cosmicdust, Observer, Broken Head (sneak peek) and much more. We’re also excited to share Flora Lux Victoria, Arde Plutón, julie, Michiganized, LN, Suave Punk, Unkenny Valleys, Floor Cry, Sunspire, Zetra, The Dreamtoday and a whole lot more. We promise to make this weekend worth your while.

And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Me You Us Them, Howless, Previous Love, Castlebeat, Wylderness, Tallies, Living Hour, A Shoreline Dream (fresh single!), Cassettes on Tape, Soot Sprite, Indoxables, No Sun, Soul Blind, absinthe father, New Age Healers, Pole Star, Forever Honey, AMAARA, The Beremy Jets, Luster, You Nothing, The Blueberries, Lacing, Chama, Old Coke and more. It’s a lot. And not a moment too soon.

New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Icecast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Limited beta: we’re now up on Mixcloud Live, website AND app, if that’s a thing you’d dig. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support.
