DKFM The buzzing in your ears is completely natural.
E’en this close to the Christmas holidays, and some top artists are pushing through to win 2022 before the calendar turns. That’s pretty boss. Headliners and first among equals: For Tracy Hyde (pictured above) unlock new LP Hotel Insomnia, mastered by Mark Gardener of Ride, just under the wire for AOTY consideration. That’s pushing the envelope, but FTH never really cared for your rules anyway. But there’s so much more to celebrate: fresh singles from Softcult, wadfah, Day Aches, CITRUS, and Valley Palace that’ll curl your arm hairs. And we round out the weekend presentation with breaking sounds from surf rock is dead, The Holy Circle, Trillion, Swanhoppers, Allwax, Lakes Region, Seasurfer, Nausicaa, Callière, Keep, Della Zyr, Shadows Tranquil, and we finally catch up with San Antonio’s dense and impactful Fawn. Finally, we’ve got a sneak peek at first single from the new After Daylight album, due late January. We’re packed!
And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Funeral Homes, Dosser, Cold Morning Colors, 13 necklace, Teletape, XO, Tide Bends, An Ocean of Embers, Black Market Karma, Kissing Party, Linda Fog, rockstarkiller, shesgot, The Know, plus a sparkling Christmas single from Drop Nineteens’ Paula Kelley. You couldn’t ask for more entertainment.
New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Icecast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Limited beta: we’re now up on Mixcloud Live, website AND app, if that’s a thing you’d dig. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!
And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
