Last Bandcamp Friday of the year, and they’re shoveling out crucial tracks like they’re going out of style. If we’re slightly tardy to share what’s up, that’s what’s up. Headliners this weekend include Life on Venus (pictured above), whose new LP just unlocked, streamlined lineup, no less impactful. We’re also celebrating the new album from station stalwarts Twin Oaks, which mines a deep vein of feeling and introspection, and we’re here for it. But we’re also celebrating choice cuts from crushed, april june, Ladder to God, Last Tourist, BOMB BUNNY (stylistically between Sonic Youth and early Blonde Redhead, and outstanding at what they do), Work Wife (solo offshoot of Colatura), and エイプリルブルー (AprilBlue). But even that’s not all. We’re also keen on new cuts from Obey Robots, Mazey Haze, Tokyo Tea Room, montegrande, SFSQ, Turmallina, Saline, Holy Reptile, mon cher, Shortwaved, HUSSY (uk), Kaery Ann, and the new Christmas single from Whimsical/The Churchhill Garden/The Blue Herons, unlocked just today. Unsurprisingly, it’s a lot.
And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Soft Blue Shimmer, The Sorry Kisses, , Sputnik Sweetheart, cruush, Whitelands, 4Vesta, Molly, Teletape, Bo Milli, GLARE, Carina Messier, all under heaven, Pam Risourié, JAUS, Hey Calamity, and choice cuts from the new Status Oblique LP. We’ve got this presentation locked, ready to shine.
New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others.
