New Tracks Weekend

New Tracks Weekend, December 27-29

This weekend, we look back on releases we’ve unintentionally overlooked in 2019, and look forward to releases arriving in 2020. Headliners Pia Fraus (pictured above) provide a sneak peek at their forthcoming Empty Parks LP, due next month. Everything you’ve loved about the Pia Fraus sound is wrapped in compelling hooks, and tunes that carry you along from the opening strains to the closing chords. Yes, it’s too damn early to promote album-of-the-year candidates for 2020, but if Empty Parks isn’t a candidate, I don’t know what is. We catch up with Queens’ UV-TV, whose Happy LP dropped in July, but flew in under our radar. Thanks to keen-eared listener Gary Gellin, we’re no longer oblivious. We’re also trotting out fresh treats from Code Ascending, dottie, Ghost Patterns, Fawning, Magic Shoppe, Silver Bars, Tusinfald, Twin Oaks, Your Friends Polymers, В пути and much more!

And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Foxes in Fiction, draag, Blushing, Helens, Uztar, Flamingo, Animal Ghosts, Her Skin, älägator, Malchicks, Animal Ghosts, Beatastic, Flamingo, Become The Sky, GR^VE, Letters To Annika, Nossiennes, Longingsky, Miners, Observer, Night Flowers, S.A.D., The Rûah, Wishbone, Vim, The Bitter Life Typecast and more. We’ve got new music discovery fully covered.

New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
