Wow… some wicked impressive new releases unlocked this week, or premiering this week, and we’re here to lap up all of them like hungry kittens. Our two biggest impact-makers this weekend are Sloe Noon (single) and Meltway (debut LP, band pictured above), both making waves in these studios that can’t be ignored. Sloe Noon has crafted a pure dream pop gem with a fuzzy gazey chorus that distills all their hard work up to this point, and it’s wonderful to see this project level up: stop/start and quiet/loud dynamics, engaging choral accents, alternately dreamy and buzzing guitar waves, it’s a crucial cut. Meltway rolls out their debut LP, Nothing Is Real, and it’s a revelation. There’s a whole ride here, dizzying heights and stomach-churning drops, from feint to fierce, it’d be an impressive full-length for any band in our genre, but for a debut? Masterclass. We’re also celebrating the recent work of RILEY’S MOUNTAIN, of which scant little is known. But it’s an introduction that needs be made, as this crew knows their way around shoegaze, and melody. Looking forward to great things from this Seattle crew, can only imagine what they might bring in a live setting.

But we’re celebrating so much more. This weekend, we’re here for new music from Black Nite Crash (released next week!), Central Pacific State Beach, Glitterspitter, Chlorine, Jacob’s Room, CIGARETTE in your bed, Details of Eating, Lozenge, Kai Tak, mop, Pink Mexico, MX LONELY, Prize Horse, So Totally, Pulse Park, Talking to Shadows, PYON SON KUT, The Cataract Pools, Wires to the Temples, Ventrelles, and choice cuts from West Coast Music Club. As usual, we’re overbooked with “new”, we’ll fit all we can into one weekend.

And all that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including NewDad, Sinking Gardens, The Fauns, Luster, cruush, Softcult, Broken Head, alex argot, Magnet School, Newmoon, Slow Salvation, fuvk, Night Tapes,  Self Love Club, Salvana, overly, Moonbear, Merle Blanc, Habitants, Echoing Twilight, Daytime Lover, blindlace, Leah Callahan, Strumień Świadomości, The Spy From Balzan, Swirlpool, Spiral XP and more. I can’t imagine how we have time for it all.

New Tracks Weekend is begun at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Live365, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Limited beta: we’re now up on Mixcloud Live, website AND app, if that’s a thing you’d dig.
