New Tracks Weekend, July 5-7

From fresh new singles out of left field, to full albums from respected veterans, we’re stocked to the gills with quality sounds for your earholes. Headliners include Taffy, whose Deep Dark Creep Love LP is another step in their sonic evolution, without losing any of their charm or engagement. Single releases that spin our hearts include Lorelei (pictured above), Blushing (about to embark on awesome West Coast tour!), Shoe Shine Six (premiered on When The Sun Hits), Capitol (previously UK Cinema), and all the other parenthetical items we can fit in one sentence. But I digress… Amazing new double-single debut from London’s Hether that got us all excitable, plus the debut from Palm Spiral will no doubt cheer the fans of Tame Impala (among others). The new single from New Brunswick NJ’s Long Beard is packed with edge-to-edge charm. New music from The Proctors, Fleur du Mal, Land Of OOO, Syrup Go On (there’s an extra comma in the name, but it’ll mess with this here list, so…), Lake Pleasant, The Dead Sound, Split Moon, BLUNDERBUSST, Sun Colony, Strangers In My House (not to be missed!), plus RAY, Tokyo Shoegazer, and YEN. So so much newness.

And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh injections, including Soft Blue Shimmer, New Age Healers, Field Mouse, MOLLY, Annie Hamilton (really climbing our charts at the moment). New tracks from the Blush Response/WARM split, plus Miners, Lightning Bug, Remington Super 60, Old Soul Dies Young, Peppermint Showers, NAX, Sunbather, Hundredth, Soften, The Darling Fire, mi andromeda, The Prids, and laedj, The Microdance, Violentene and more. All weekend, all win.

New Tracks Weekend is begun 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
