Multiple acts can rightly claim to “headliner” status on DKFM this weekend, and that’s as it should be. This weekend we’re celebrating some impressive new artists and sounds. First among equals is the debut from Surabaya, Indonesia’s SHRINE (pictured above), whose introduction to these studios drew parallels from Airiel, Slowdive and This Will Destroy You. Yup, I think we can co-sign that. Sacred Limbo is out today on Bandcamp (and lesser sites). But we’re also celebrating brand new sounds from Paper Lady, stillfilms, Teen Idle (a welcome return), vaega, The Virginia Planes, Lital Hagayan (video premiere here), We Melt Chocolate, THALA, Velvet, Wires to the Temples, Say Sue Me and more. But even then, we go deeper still: Bad Charm, DIAL, Cheerless, fazed, Marts, kigo, My Coverstone, Fir Cone Children, The Crayon Set, Talking to Shadows, Yndling, MISPRiNT, nabeel (نبيل), Future Theory and so much more. Just doing our part to add heat to this heat wave.
