Even right up to deadline, we’re plucking fresh tunes and putting them in the weekend basket. New covers from Daydream Cathedral and Verdigrls are pure gold. The long-awaited debut album from Movie Brain (pictured above) is finally upon us. New singles from The Surrounded, Nylon Smile, flirting, Corasandel, The Visceral Pleasure, Linda Guilala (first broke the website, now breaking the radio), Lunar Landscape, and an impressive EP from Popdata are all polished and ready to go. Plus, we catch up with the classic 90’s reissues from Super Thirty-One (early incarnation of The Luxembourg Signal). Plus we’re excited to preview the first single from the upcoming album from Echolust! On top of all that, we get a second crack at some of the fresh tracks Jason trotted out for his SomewhereCold Radio Hour this week: Resistance Compilation features brand new material from the likes of Highspire, Tears Run Rings, Pia Fraus and more, and all proceeds on the preorder are donated to charitable causes. Definitely a top-notch cast list! Hope we’re not forgetting anything, but surely we are.
And that’s in addition to last week’s fresh treats from Tape Waves, Nothing, Angel Aura, Alpaca Sports, Sugar Plant, June Parker, Simmer, Pabst, Waste My Life Away, Jübl (Rudy Tambala of A.R.Kane), You Said Strange, Vamping, Oxy, Echo Ladies, Forever Fatale, and Agent blå. We packed.
New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM,  on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our NEW branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed, as we’re live-tweeting every track on our sub-Twitter DKFMTracks account, and we’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!
And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
