First full weekend of summer, and wouldn’t have thought we’d be overpacked for new music, but… here we are. This weekend we’re celebrating some outstanding new releases, including those that dance at the outer edges of our beloved genres, but are landmark nonetheless. So we won’t ignore them, we’ll celebrate the achievement(s). Our two biggest outliers are both compelling works best taken as an unified whole (which we can’t do by law): Echodrone’s Music for 6 Musicians, and Lake Ruth’s Hawking Radiation. Each carves out an unique sonic channel, and commits to the process and the end product, and both platters are marvels for their singular focus and vision. Why Echodrone didn’t spell out “Six” in their title, well… that’s probably only a crime in Strunk & White’s Elements of Style. But there’s so much more to celebrate, including sweet singles from Whitelands, Salt+, Magic Shoppe, Sueño Púrpura, Blush, tummyache, Winter, chirrp., Found Space, Central Pacific State Beach, LOOSER, Tired Cossack, CVRNS and more. Plus we’re deep into the new EP from Glider, as well as the new albums from Lullavile, These Sleeping Hands, and the new Paradigms II compilation from PFR Records, featuring Yuètù, Dyr Faser, Duel Ferns and more. It’s a packed weekend, we’ll spin up all the clock allows.

New Tracks Weekend is begun at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific.
