New Tracks Weekend

New Tracks Weekend, June 8-10

All new, all now, let’s go! Distant Light, the new album from Tape Waves (pictured above) dropped two days ago, and regular listeners know to count on these capable Charlestonians for solid dream pop shimmer. The new single from Nothing loosed the other day, and nobody noticed. Okay, everyone noticed. The lead single from Dance on the Blacktop shows new growth from these veterans, and many can’t wait for the album’s August release. But there’s still much more to recommend: the new EP from station favorites Angel Aura came in late last night, and we’re still exploring its contours. The new single from Alpaca Sports has all the jangle you could hope for. We’re keen on the new singles from Sugar Plant, June Parker, Simmer, Pabst, Waste My Life Away, and Jübl (Rudy Tambala of A.R.Kane). Plus new music from Fuzz Club standard-bearers You Said Strange, as well as Vamping, Oxy, Echo Ladies, Forever Fatale, and Agent blå. Packed.
But we’re still pushing new music from The Emerald Down, Sobs, Stella Diana, Wynona Bleach, Galants, Lilith, Why Bonnie, Heathers, New Age Healers, Ben Rath, Corasandel, Shaki Tavi, Crimen, MrENC, and Parks, Squares and Alleys, plus Tom Boyle, Fyrrh, акульи слёзы, Chatham Rise, Damascus, Dorias Baracca and so much more.
Plus, it’s only the second weekend to have new tracks running through two channels! If you have the app, you may have noticed “DKFM EDGE” as a new streaming addition. This is pretty much New Tracks Weekend on steroids, but available all day, all night, all week. Why “EDGE”? It represents only the freshest material, so you’re always on the leading edge of the sound and the scene. While it was built specifically for users of the DKFM app, it can still be reached outside the app, with a stream configured for multiple listening preferences. And it stays up to date with all the New Tracks Weekend material, in some cases even before launching New Tracks Weekend on DKFM proper. So that’s a win.
New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM,  on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our NEW branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed, as we’re live-tweeting every track on our sub-Twitter DKFMTracks account, and we’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!
And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
