DKFM The buzzing in your ears is completely natural.
In a day packed with headlines and breaking news, we have our own: breaking tracks, fresh releases, world premieres. We won’t be shown up, and we’ll show you the contents of all our (music) boxes. We’re thrilled to trot out fresh releases from Mad Honey (crucial, but not yet on Bandcamp), Temple of Angels, Forest Circles, Hayien, Beach Fossils, Diamond Day, Melody English, Dharmacide, Keep, Mental Map, Pálida Tez, Rainsong, worse. (glowingly reviewed here), Velvet Sunset, and Philly’s own Bleary Eyed (pictured above). Strong front line deserves a solid second line, and we’ve got it: fresh sounds from DAODA, fetters in use (premiere, and a great introduction to their sound), Human Colonies, Under The Sun, Keeley, ALCATUNE, Waves of Dread, vaega, and a whole lot more. It’s an historic haul of crucial sounds.
And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Baleen, Futureheaven, The Julies, Dead Horse One, Berezina, Scrunchie, Bedroom Eyes, Cigarettes for Breakfast, Glossing, Soft Siren, ringing, Grundeis, Vicegrip, The Youth Play, Echo Ladies, Waving Blue, Cold Equations, Shining Fields, Cats Cradle, Gaadge, Possvm and more. We’re too deep into this to turn back now.
New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Live365, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Limited beta: we’re now up on Mixcloud Live, website AND app, if that’s a thing you’d dig. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!
And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
