New Tracks Weekend

New Tracks Weekend, March 1-3

Another amazing week for new music, with two long-awaited albums released just this morning. WESTKUST released their second LP today, and Living Hour (pictured above) unleashed Softer Faces, their second full album of original material. And the two LPs couldn’t be more different, but neither is less charming for the difference. Westkust remains focused on hummable tunes wrapped in distortion, while Living Hour appears to dismantle and reassemble the form, sometimes even mid-song. Both demonstrate a mastery of their sound, and celebrate their respective sonic imprints.

That would be a fine start and end, but there’s so many headliners to play. We have compelling tunes from Hatchie, Mirror of Dreams, Crumb, Heartlings, Dovi, Palm Haze, The Raft, Dinosaur Girl, astragal, Mint Field, Youth, Art Dave, Fourteen Nights At Sea, fuvk, Clan de Venus, Kero Kero Bonito, Star Tropics, We Melt Chocolate, Say Sue Me, Melt, Henrys Sun, and Parks, Squares and Alleys. We’re packed to the rafters with fresh sounds for your earbuds!

And that’s all in addition to last weekend’s fresh adds, including Fragile Animals, Velveteen Riot, She Sir, XO, Rei Clone, Desperate Journalist, Funeral Advantage, Chain Wallet, Day & Dream, Lavender Blush, Battery Point, Flaural, Blarescape, Lake Pleasant, Semaphore, Russian Baths, Le SuperHomard, Crushed Up, Spotlights, Sunbloom, Moon Loves Honey, Vicious Blossom, Secret Attraction, Velveteen Riot, Kill The Moose, Anemone and so much more.

New Tracks Weekend is begun 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM,  on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
