DKFM The buzzing in your ears is completely natural.
Bandcamp Friday, and the inbox is overstuffed. We’re staffed and ready to sort the week’s most impressive offerings. Headliners this weekend include Salt+, Blushing (pictured above), Red Sun 1981 (premiered on Drowned in a Sea of Sound on Wednesday night), Local Authority, Oliver Beardmore (also premiered on DISS Wednesday night), Kodaclips, somesurprises, and Dead Horse One. And there’s so much more to add to the pile: new sounds from Kid Tigrrr, Bluhm, Ceramic, bosses, Dive Collate, Dormer, happyvoid, Head Sound, Jaqobin, Jesse D’Kora, Lara, Libbianski, Lozenge, Nashville Saints, Pastry, Seaside, Skot Kremen, SLOMO, softlightsymphony, Sonic Blue, sunnbrella, Sunstinger, The City Gates, the neverminds, The Ophelias, and You Wish. Plus, we’ll take a deep dive into the debut LP from Shades of Violette, and we’re heavy pushing a surprise reissue that’s got tongues wagging in these studios: painted air records out of Buffalo has repackaged and updated Closedown’s seminal debut Nearfield, fully remixed, with a never-heard track, and remastered by Simon Scott. The new composition is entitled Dissolve, and all we’ve heard thus far is sparkly, compelling, and might be the surprise of the new year. We’ll be leaning in on this release from now through its late March reissue date. So that’s a lot, right?
And all that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Bored at My Grandma’s House, Coder, Glimmer, Sunstinger, The Floatings, twin coast, Velvet, Virgins, Whitelands, The Voices, The Rocky Valentines, DOG PARK, Air Formation, Keaper, Blossom, Blue Cinema, Dotsun Moon, Buddy Junior, Daytime Lover, Dive Collate, Dramamine, Halo Vair, heavëner, Hey Calamity, HYLA, Lesser Care, Mumble, Holiem, Occasionally Human, Paragon Cause, SUIIX, The Day, The Fever Haze, and Trauma Glow. More music than weekend, we’ll shove in as much as we can fit.
New Tracks Weekend is begun at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Live365, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Limited beta: we’re now up on Mixcloud Live, website AND app, if that’s a thing you’d dig. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!
And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
