New Tracks Weekend

New Tracks Weekend, May 11-13

So much beauty is released today, and this week. A few titles we’ve pushed to the fore, should come as no surprise: Terra Pines’ (pictured above) self-titled debut shines, as we knew it would. Beach House steps up their sonic game on 7, and Pinkshinyultrablast travel ever further down the rabbit hole on their new LP, Miserable Miracles. Soft Science is finally getting their due for the top-notch songwriting they’ve been doing for years now, coinciding with the release of their second LP Maps. We’ll sneak in a few tracks to remind you why these folks have been heavy rotation on our air for years now.But we can’t stop there: new music from Todavia sparkles, plus we’re shuffling in some new and challenging musics from Soapboxer, Seventeen Years, Just Mustard, Gleemer, Floating Room, Centrefold, Many Voices Speak, Hyperdream, Coude, The Delerium Trees, The Blue Herons, Broken Islands, Aseul, and we’ll catch up with station favorites The City Gates, whose new Forever Orbiter refreshes all the feels we’ve ever felt for them. There’s surely more we’ve forgot, adding just this weekend. Plus, we’re still pushing the sparkle that is Sleep Still, and anxious for more. Catch the video premiere and interview we published today here.
And that’s in addition to the truckload of fresh new tuneage we brought last weekend, including Transistor, Landing, Hatchie, Daydream Cathedral, Man Without Country, Tennis System, Routine Death, LEBEND, Nuit, Wussy, Bizarre (premiere stream here), El Glum, Vet Trip,  In Her Eye, LAUNDER, Loom, The Pink Elephants, Vlimmer, Say Sue Me, Oxy, Movie Brain, Mainlight, Human Colonies, Hey Elbow, Morning Myth, Future Theory, Glace, Bad Intuition, Sleep Still, All Sparks Burn Out, Soft Science, pillow, and so, so, so much more.
New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM,  on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our NEW branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed, as we’re live-tweeting every track on our sub-Twitter DKFMTracks account, and we’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!
And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
