New Tracks Weekend

New Tracks Weekend, May 18-20

So much new music, we built a weekend around it. Sparkling new tunes from Swirlpool, Daze (TX), Crash Dept, Drop Like Stars, Silver Dapple, SHUN, if only there were angels, Pale Sun, Hundredth, Medio September, Spring Winds, The Smilies, The Terminal Voyeurs, The Us, Angel Falls, Them Are Us Too, and surely more that we’ve forgot to mention. Amber of When The Sun Hits has heaped raves on the new Silver Dapple, and Moody Boots lives up to the high praise. Drop Like Stars features a cast of veterans who know their way around this exquisite sound. Hundredth is new to us, but their Rare LP from 2017 marks a distinct shift in their sound, and a warm approach to shoegaze and reverb tones. Recommended by listeners in the DKFM Shoegaze group, immediately caught our attention, now we’re catching up. SHUN you may have heard on TSC 69, it’s got legs (and feels), they’ll be hanging around our rotation for some time to come. So much to tell you about, but smarter to simply spin it for you, you’ll understand our enthusiasm.
Of course that’s not to neglect last weekend’s fresh sounds, including Beach House, Terra Pines, Pinkshinyultrablast, Soft Science, Todavia, Soapboxer, Seventeen Years, Just Mustard, Gleemer, Floating Room, Centrefold, Many Voices Speak, Hyperdream, Coude, The Delerium Trees, The Blue Herons, Broken Islands, Aseul, The City Gates, Sleep Still and so much more. We’re well overbooked.
New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM,  on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our NEW branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed, as we’re live-tweeting every track on our sub-Twitter DKFMTracks account, and we’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!
And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
