There’s no such thing as “a weekend off”. Even if you think you’re taking a day off, the work piles up in your absence. So it is with new releases and New Tracks Weekend. Step away for a minute, and there’s that much more that requires assessment and appreciation. More than one headliner, so much so that we even split up our weekend graphical banner into three to illustrate the point. Pictured above, left to right: Turmallina (São Paulo, Brazil), Sea Lemon (Seattle, WA), Montegrande (Buenos Aires, Argentina). Sea Lemon you probably know, as we’ve been spinning each new single on Spirit Goth in heavy rotati0n as they’ve unlocked. Close Up EP is now out, completing this single cycle on a triumphant note. Turmallina was initially celebrated on our air by Simon’s Melomania Safety Zone, but only on second assessment do you realize what a revelation this release is. Montegrande is, for lack of better description, Argentina’s answer to the classic jangle era of DIIV, and perhaps more emotionally impactful. They’re still young, this only gets better, and better…

And that’s just the first three we’re celebrating. Not to be overlooked, Stella Star, from Poland. If this is your first hearing, you will be charmed. Write it down, refer to it later. We’re also celebrating Coming Up Roses, Ex Pilots, MOTORCADE, Bedlocked, Cigarette In Your Bed, Beverly Kills, Five Day Morning, Citrus, Golden Gurls (decade old LP, just now being resuscitated on Twitter), Dream Room, Caution, GR^VE, Ian Edwards, happyvoid, Inertial, JAUS, Launder, Inoxidables, Kissing Party, Lua Gramer, Manu, Leaving Time, Mope Burn, No One Sphere, Matt Gurley, Living Hour (feat. Jay Som), Previous Love, Lost Echoes, Old Moon, Pit Pony, Rew, Pet Fox, Soft Set (feat. Prepare My Glider), Quali, White Flowers, Rosewilder, Sarakiniko, SLIDE, The Rosie Varela Project, Skot Kremen, Triangle Rain Club, Zed Point, The Splashers, Twin Oaks, Superdrone, and a sneak peek premiere from After Daylight. Full working weekend for us, pure entertainment and new music discovery for you.

And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Hater, Trauma Ray, Droopies, Holy Forrest, Hazel English, Uniforms, Kraus, supergloom, Tombstones In Their Eyes, Mirelight, Suave Punk, Perpetual Void, Leones, Slo Moon, Lande Hekt, REVOLUTION ABOVE DISORDER, So Totally, Kitsch!!, Stephen’s Shore, Kali Ma and the Garland of Arms, JustMakeMeCry, Slowly, Magic Wands, Just Mustard, Allwax, Idler Wheel, Jōetsu Shore, Hayien, Finlay Hatton, GOON, Hause Plants, Gone, DARLING., Bend, Graveyard Club, dayaway, ASkySoBlack, Deflated Lovers, and a whole lot more. No slack here, there’s no time for it.

New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Icecast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Limited beta: we’re now up on Mixcloud Live, website AND app, if that’s a thing you’d dig. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support.
