Bandcamp Friday usually means double the work. And that’s okay. When there’s so much new music in our chosen genres, it’s up to us to ensure you hear the best that’s on offer. And that’s a job we love. Among this weekend’s featured performers: WINKIE… it’s been awhile, and while they don’t always hew directly to our sonic footprint, this Brooklyn noise duo always brings the dark side of the sound into sharp focus, and this new LP on Dying Machine Records is compelling, start to finish. The new album from 宇宙ネコ子 (Uchu Nekoko) is just another mastery of the sound, never disappointing. The new maxi-single from Seatemples blends shoegaze and dark psychedelic swirls to generate a compelling new single. And while we’re several weeks behind on it, the new album from Moscow’s Космос на потолке (pictured above) is a joy to behold. Expect to hear a lot from it in the coming weeks, as we’re “leaning in” on this sound, and expect some significant impact on the year-end album charts.
We’re big on the new single from EEP (premiered on last night’s Melomania Safety Zone), which teases an album to look forward to. We’re pushing new music from Day & Dream, Last Tourist, Heathermint, Stomp Talk Modstone, Punchlove, softsurf (the quiet roar returns), LANNDS, Heathermint, El Glum, Nylon Smile, Alex E.T., Midsommar, Parrot Dream, Sonoda, Trophy Grief, Sun Bruised, Tiles, Syupeo Jenjang, The Kundalini Genie, увула and so much more. So much that it took two paragraphs just to give the broad brush strokes. So be it. We’ve got it, we’ll play it, you’ll love it.
