DKFM The buzzing in your ears is completely natural.
Chaos. It’s not just that it’s Friday the 13th, it’s …volume. The sheer volume of new tracks for consideration beats even most Bandcamp Fridays, and that’s really saying something. We’ve got three credible albums yet to mine for gems, and haven’t included them, because we simply didn’t have time. That’s how this weekend is gonna be, so be it. Headliners, we’ve got plenty, including several crucial pre-release sneak peeks worthy of your attention. Premieres from Wozniak, as well as Animal Ghosts (featuring Japanese Heart Software), crucial cuts. You’ll be clamoring for more, or we’re not …us. But we’ve got more headliners: Almagrey, Ceramic (pictured above), Drook, Emma Anderson, OSNOVA, Salvana, Theredone, Sorry Dave, Welcome Strawberry, and She’s In Parties are in hot rotation, and for good reason. But even that only scratches surface: we’ve got new music from Fine China (out next week on Velvet Blue Music), Common Thread, DKANDLE, Far West, Closure, Dial Tone, .com, divaria, Far West, Holy Ship, Foulness Island, Gemma Hayes, House of Harm, Kryowake, Living Hour & The Ophelias, Maida Rose, PYON SON KUT, Misty Coast, Salvana, Ridgeway, The Death of Pop, Tic Tac, Vyva Melinkolya, Wish Queen, jeremiah foundation, Twin Rains, We Melt Chocolate and more. Plus, we’ve got two new compilations worth your consideration: Alimpuyo from Shoegaze Philipinas, and our very own Nicole’s Aspirin Age Volume Three, featuring such luminaries as Lilys, Funeral Homes, Magic Shoppe, Cigarettes for Breakfast and more. It’s a whole dang deal, and there’s no guarantee we can pack all this in. We’ll do our best.
And all that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Drift, Hazel English, Gloomer, Letting Up Despite Great Faults, Glassmanet, Medejin, flyingfish, Sadness, Tomates en Verano, seventeen years, You Wish, Waves Crashing, Shojo, Lilac Haze, Minnows, Francis of Delirium, Metrophobia, Fulvetta, Dramamine, bed bug guru, Hey Calamity, deary, ALCATUNE, and so much more. We’re overbooked, we’ll make it work.
New Tracks Weekend is begun at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Live365, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Limited beta: we’re now up on Mixcloud Live, website AND app, if that’s a thing you’d dig. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!
And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
