DKFM The buzzing in your ears is completely natural.
We’re overpacked with awesome. It’s an epic weekend for new music, and we’re here for it. We’re featuring a sneak peek of the forthcoming (and long-awaited) LP from Highlands, out next week on Exte Records. We’ll play several key tracks from this grand return, including one exclusive to our air, and we’re pretty jazzed about it. We’re also keen on the debut LP from Philly’s Timelost (pictured above), a torrid sonic wonder from start to finish. But there’s so much to celebrate this weekend: Rocketship, The Epigones (classic, almost throwback sound), Ousel, Shana Falana, Neist Season, Surf Rock is Dead, Claud, Muun Bato, The Twilight Sad, LEMOLO, Temple of Angels, WORLDS, Reveries (debuted here), FOG, Primitive Heart, Big Bite, SirenSong, Luster, Tristesse Club, Oh Well Goodbye, Youth, Las Atlantis, Wozniak, Subway Porno, Pure Confusion, No Sun, kinoue64, and more we can’t even think of! Because our brains and ears are full.
As we’re but two weeks out from our first Vancouver showcase, and Black Ferns have a new album out, it’s time to show it off. Add that to Palm Haze’s new album, and that’s two thirds of the bill, making a big dent in the weekend’s radio proceedings. If you missed the memo, the upcoming showcase features Black Ferns, Palm Haze, The Intelligence Service, with DJ stylings provided by Jason Corbett of ACTORS. It’s sure to be an amazing evening, and if you’re anywhere in the area, you simply must attend! Friday, 8 November at Astoria Hastings, in Vancouver BC. The week following Star Shine Fest in Denton, TX, it’s a busy season for great sounds.
And all of these are in addition to last weekend’s fresh injections, including El Lago, Small Planets, LUBEC, Audiobaton, Basement Revolver, Billow, The Cherry Wave, Spool, Pure Hex, Seasurfer, Mad Honey, Longingsky, Nax, Sketch Jets, Teen Blush, Simen Lyngroth, A Headless Horse, Routine Death, and SO much more. We’re top-to-bottom loaded for the weekend.
New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!
And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
