New Tracks Weekend

New Tracks Weekend, September 22-24

Thinking it might be a slow weekend for new music, we sort of went into cruise control. Wrong. Always wrong. We have the honor of previewing next week’s release of When The Sun Hits (the band, not the blog, or the classic Slowdive song) on Saint Marie Records. Immersed Within Your Eyes drops next week, and you can hear why SMR was rightly buzzed about these Nottingham lads. But, more. Former members of Solar Powered People banded together to lay down a heavy foundation and new tunes. Modesto’s MidNightSun is experimenting with heavy shoegaze feels, and is on the lookout for a vocalist to complement the epic haze. You’ll want to hear what this crew has been up to. But so much more… Black Needle Noise, Swimming Tapes (pictured, above), Seeing Hands, Palm Haze, No Kill, Lacing, Death Bells, Auburn Lull (new album landed today!), Silver Liz, 93millionmilesfromthesun, PolyAnna, Outward, Burn The Louvre, The Orchids, Volunteer Cheerleader, Ella Atlas, Alvvays, The Prids, Sun Colony, and choice cuts from the new TBTCI compilation celebrating the Psychedelic Furs. OH! And the new single from The Morelings. Having heard advance of the album, this seems like a next-level effort, and we’re looking forward to the official release.
Let’s not forget last weekend’s new tracks, including Infinity Girl’s swan song, L.A. Witch, The City Gates, Echoes, Indrive, Debrider, Cold Beat, Wild Arrows, Baker Island, Bruise Pristine, Changelings, SALES, No Honeymoon and WYWY. All picked at the peak of freshness.
New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station page at DKFM,  on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOSAndroid and Blackberry: listeners can vote thumbs-up/thumbs-down on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed, as we’re live-tweeting every track on our sub-Twitter DKFMTracks account. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!
And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
