We’re not the only ones who’ve been waiting for new music from LA’s XO. Their impressive Heart LP landed in early 2014, and the crew have been quiet since then, save for the teaser single, “TV You” last October. We’ve seen Twitter evidence of creative stirring for months, most recently at The Cave Studios in LA. And their “star turn” at Part Time Punks’ annual My Bloody Valentine Night was well worth our attendance and attention.
Comprised of two in-studio live sessions for Michael Stock’s Part Time Punks (KXLU), this release includes four original compositions, and four My Bloody Valentine covers. And in an unusual move, digital download of the eight-track release is available only with cassette purchase. We’re proud to present the premiere of XO’s cover of the My Bloody Valentine classic, “You Never Should”.
Preorders are live now via the XO Bandcamp site, with expected release date of August 24th. On top of that, this is a limited edition cassette run of 100 black shells, with white imprint, overwrap and download card, plus XO sticker. From XO, to Josiah and company at The Cave Studio, to Part Time Punks, expect one of the most buzzworthy releases of 2018 right here. And its relative scarcity only makes it even more of a hot ticket.
