We've been spinning Toronto's Shallow Waves since last year. Their engaging post-punk/fuzzy noise is a heady confection, reasonably comparable to a collision between early JAMC and Bloody Knives. Much like BK, compelling propulsion drives the songs, and carries you through the presentation. Gazey influences abound, but always grounded in that insistent, unyielding propulsion.
