There’s a lot of fresh releases to sort through for you this weekend, and we’re prepared to entertain. The new album from The High Violets, B-Sides & Rarities is unleashed next week, and we’re gonna celebrate the event in advance, teasing out a key track or two. We’re also celebrating the new album from Paragon Cause, currently climbing the NACC charts. We’re chuffed at the return of Soot Sprite (pictured above), in fine form once again. We’re also celebrating the debut from Carina Messier, first promoted by The Big Takeover, The Kitchen Sink with Elizabeth Klisiewicz, and WFMU. While not necessarily a natural fit for us, the evocative charm is deep and wide, and there’s good reason these outlets are celebrating the work. We’ll explore the contours of the new LP from rainsteam&speed, releasing 17 September. We’ll dig into the new sounds from re-lapse, Iceblink, Deserta, The Besnard Lakes, Zetra, TONER, Lunar Isles, The Beths, Letters to Annika, JAUS, Grave Saddles, Flower Crown, Chime School, Fern Murphy, Archie Sagers, The Churchhill Garden, Finlay Hatton, Adiós Cometa and so much more.

And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Lightfoils, Bleach Lab, Midsommar, plant cell, shedfromthebody, WARM, Softcult, Sunnbrella, Manu, Ghost Patterns, Seabirth, Stay Lunar, Business School, CASTLEBEAT, Spunsugar, Captive Frame, Errorr, City Flanker, Nightcrush, Peachblood, Maida Rose, Pink Milk, Ohio Mark, No One Sphere, PEEL, The Here Todays, and everything else that fits in the time allowed. That’s the job, and we rather dig it.

New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Icecast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Limited beta: we’re now up on Mixcloud Live, website AND app, if that’s a thing you’d dig. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support.

Ready to venture out in public again? Check the DKFM Gear Shop for great casualwear and accessories, and support the station at the same time!
