Top listeners:
DKFM The buzzing in your ears is completely natural.
We’re doing fifteen things simultaneously in the DKFM studios. Just how it rolls sometimes. Gearing up for Kalamashoegazer 13 in less than three weeks, and it’s certain to be a party! But among our responsibilities, generating the top airplay charts, as voted by our listeners via the DKFM app. It’s an important responsibility, and one we take seriously. It also helps to reflect where we’re at thus far this year: who’s up, who’s down, who’s durable well past release date.
Are there some artists missing? Absolutely yes. And that’s not to say they’re not generating votes, just not enough to remain on charts. My personal hope, that they’ll continue to generate buzz, and not miss our big annual charts at year’s end. Specifically, looking to see more DAZE, Soft Blue Shimmer, Temple of Angels, April Blue, and about a dozen others. Luckily it’s still August, we’ve plenty of time for listener votes to make a dent in the proceedings.
Without further self-embarrassment, press play below, as we count down the platters that matter.
Need a quick reference? We have that. Again, thanks to the voters for bumping their favorite tunes via the app!

Not at all embarrassing that we’ve got Twin Oaks represented TWICE in the chart, as we’ve been pushing folks to pay attention. Not at all embarrassing that we’ve got a pretty international representation in top vote-getters, save for the fact that we’re pretty Australia-heavy in the Top Ten. But that’s also a testament to the impressive music coming from down under, as there are cycles and hot spots in the scene, but Australia is always a strong competitor, no matter the year.
Until next time, this is DJ Heretic saying, see you at Kalamashoegazer 13, and…
