It’s a rough week to be promoting new music. Imagine waking up and finding you have three times the normal raft of quality submissions to program. This is that week. We could have any of multiple headliners this weekend, each deserving of your full and undivided listening attention. That we have this many world class artists releasing this week is just testament to how amazing a year this will be for great music. And that’s no hyperbole. First among equals: Wilsen, whose album of grown-up dream pop from Brooklyn is an enduring and engaging gem, end to end. The debut full-length LP from Spain’s Lúa Gramer is pure sonic bliss for fans of the genre, melding tuneful dream pop, hazy epic breaks, and an almost Japanese pop sensibility to form a compelling and memorable LP. We’re thrilled to have advance of the debut LP from Loveblind on Saint Marie Records. If you loved Curve, if you loved Seasurfer, there’s a lot to love here. We’ll tease you with some choice cuts in advance of next month’s release. And Ringo Deathstarr. Currently on Japanese import, it’s worth waiting for. And it’s been a helluva wait. But in that time, Elliott Frazier has tweaked, tuned and fully mastered the art of production, creating a wild and wonderful platter that’s only hinted at in live performance.

But we’ve only scratched the surface. We’ve got sneak previews from Yukla Down, bending the chords and bringing the house down. We’ve got a world premiere of the new demo from SomewhereCold artists Outward, coming soon. We’ve got the new LP from Best Coast. We’re hyped on the new singles from Juniper Bush (outstanding, not to be missed!), Ditch Days, Winter, Draag, Jay Som, Ex Girls, Babe Corner, Cigarettes for Breakfast, Bad Bloom, desert museum, Black Books, Ditch Days, Crystal Waves, butohes, EST, BrooksOfYork, Laulia, Honeymoan, Revolution I Love You, seablite, The Bilinda Butchers, southpacific, wishbone, Shiny Times, and White Flowers. Plus, we’re keen on the recent album releases from Glia, and Strawberry Generation. What did I tell you, we’re PACKED.

And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Flyying Colours, Away Forward, urbanation, The Day, Candace, The Churchhill Garden, Dottie, Indoor Voices, Pour Over, Topographies (released last hour), Un.Real, Queridas, Juliper Sky, Warper, Octopus King, Meltway, Helicon, ENDZ, Dianas, chemical club, Deer Grove, Blume and MUCH more. We’ll be purging along the way, so’s we have time to cram in all the awesome.

New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
